Budget Update: Good News for Parks
Last week the legislature passed a $330 million supplemental budget for the current fiscal year that included a much-needed $2.1 million for DCR parks. Most of the funds- nearly $200 million--are directed to the state's Medicaid program, MassHealth. In addition to the funding for parks, the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs received an additional $200,000 for environmental law enforcement and the Dept. of Administration and Finance received $1.2 million for mosquito control.
